cups of loveBOCA RATON — The local chapter of Gold Coast Porcelain Artists donated hand-painted “Cups of Love' to Boca Raton Community Hospital’s Center for Breast Care. The cups, each one unique, will be given to recently diagnosed patients with breast cancer to give them strength, courage and determination in their fight against the disease.

“Our chapter of Gold Coast Porcelain Artists is honored to donate our works of art to the Center for Breast Care for the second straight year,” said Virginia Bradley, chapter president. “It is our way of offering encouragement and support to breast cancer patients.”

Each cup is hand-painted, and no two cups are the same. Nationwide, the porcelain artists have increasingly been painting “Cups of Love” for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. “We are deeply moved that Virginia and her team think of our patients in such a special way,” said Louise Morrell, MD, Medical Director, The Center for Breast Care.” “It is a gesture that brings hope to those fighting to conquer this disease.”

Gold Coast Porcelain Artists was established in 1980 and is a member of the Florida State Association of Porcelain Artists. The majority of members have been painting porcelain for many years in weekly classes and seminars. Porcelain painting, often associated with flowers, fruits and portraits, has been a fine art for centuries. For those interested in the “Cups of Love” or the Gold Coast Porcelain Artists, please contact Ms. Bradley at 561.276.7546.
