DELRAY BEACH — Juan Martin Del Potro kept on rolling Thursday evening, easily beating Teymuraz Gabashvili 6-1, 6-1 Thursday evening at the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships.
In the night cap, South African Kevin Anderson dispatched France's Florent Serra 6-1, 6-4. Anderson, the No. 5 seed in the tournament, will face Del Porto in a quarterfinal match Friday night.
Russian Gabashvili had beaten No. 4 seed John Isner in his previous match, and came into the tournament 90 spots higher than Del Potro in world rankings. But this night, he had no answers for the powerful Del Potro, winner of the 2009 U.S. Open.
