March Madness strikes Delray Chamber's men's group

DELRAY BEACH — They call it March Madness, and it's as predictable as spring. Perfectly normal men and women become glued to their television sets basketball stalwarts such as Duke, Syracuse and Kentucky try to fend off interlopers from Purdue, Butler and Cornell. Members of the Men's Group of the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce are not immune, and in fact, may be more susceptible than most. However, they use this insanity to do good, gathering each year to raise money for the chamber's education fund.

This year was no exception. About 75 to 100 members and their friends partied at the Delray Beach Marriott on March 18, the day the NCAA basketball tournament got underway. Dan Castrillon of the Chamber Men's group said the event raised about $500 for the education fund. He noted the efforts and donations of the Marriott in making the evening a success.
