Delray Jaycees to hold Gerretson fishing tourney

DELRAY BEACH — The Delray Beach Jaycees is sponsoring the Mark Gerretson Memorial 15th Annual Fishing Tournament on Saturday, August 8. Held in memory of Delray Beach resident Mark Gerretson, the event benefits the Delray Citizens for Delray Police Holiday Toy Drive and Kids & Cops Program.

Boaters will depart from either the Boynton Beach inlet or the Boca Raton inlet at 6:30 a.m. Fish weigh-in will take place at Veterans Park, Atlantic Avenue and A1A, between 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.. Raffle drawings, delicious barbeque and an awards ceremony make for a fun and entertaining day.

Entry forms are available at Florida Native Bait & Tackle, 1824 N Federal Highway in Boynton Beach or by contacting Officer Jeff Messer at (561) 243-7841. Entry fees are as follows:

• $175 per boat (up to four anglers) received by August 3;
• $200 per boat (up to four anglers) received on or after August 4;
• $50 for each additional angler;
• Final entry registration date: August 7;
