DELRAY BEACH — The name is apt. The entrance to Off The Avenue is exactly 25 off the avenue. Atlantic Avenue. In downtown Delray Beach
The bar/restaurant, which co-owner Jolene McClure likened to television’s “Cheers” (remember, Sam, Diane, Norm, Cliff and company), celebrated its grand opening Wednesday along with representatives of the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce and City Commissioner Adam Frankel.
“We’ve got great food, great people, great company,” McClure said. “It’s a fun, little, neighborhood place, a great spot to hang out.”
Adam Knoblock, a veteran of the hospitality industry, is the other owner. The two partners have been friends for years.
Off The Avenue offers a full bar and menu that includes New York-style pizza, subs, sandwiches and appetizers. The bread for the subs and sandwiches is specially baked for the establishment, McClure said.
“A grand opening is always a special occasion,” Commissioner Frankel said. “And it’s always special to have a new business in the community.”
